Girls Team
OOA Gymnastics girls team is led by our Head Coach and Gym Owner, Mohini Bhardwaj. Mohini was the Women’s gymnastics team captain for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. With elite coaching and a talented hard-working team, we are focused on producing Oregon State champions, that will be able to compete at the National level. Our coaches are certified with the USAG and safety is a top priority.
Our girl’s program starts at age six, allowing our girls to compete at a young age in order to train high-level athletes competing for National exposure. Following is a list of the girl’s team programs we offer at OOA:
- Pre-team: This program combines our level 2, and pre-level 3 students together who are aspiring to become competitive gymnasts. This class meets twice a week for 1.50 hours.
- Level 3 Team: Level 3 is the first competitive level for girls here in the state of Oregon. The championship meet is State in the Fall and Spring. Our level 3 program here at OOA Gymnastics introduces the athletes to competitive gymnastics and through skill progression and development helps them progress to our level 4 program.
- Level 4 Team: Our girls level 4 team trains 3 days per week for 3.5 hours each training period. All level 4 members must have passed our level 3 requirements for the girls to move to level 4, become a booster club member and register for a USAG#.
- Level 5 Team: is the highest compulsory level for girls. At this level, training becomes more serious. These girls train 3 days a week for 3.5 hours each training period. To become a level 5 team member you must have passed our level 4 requirements to move to level 5.
- Level 6 and 7 Team: These are the first optional levels where the girls begin to put their own routines together. Practice becomes more demanding with 4 days and 3.5 hours each training period. Each of these levels have similar requirements with Level 7 being more specific to harder skill requirements. To become a Level 7, all requirements must be met by the gymnast before moving up.
- Level 8 Team: Level 8 is the 3rd optional level. Competitors routines now need more difficulty to receive a 10.0 start value. At this level, the competitor has the opportunity to qualify up to Regionals.
- Level 9 Team: Level 9 gymnasts have a greater degree of difficulty required than level 8’s to reach a 10.0 start value. In addition to difficulty requirements, they also must fulfill bonus requirements to reach the 10.0 start value. Level 9 gymnasts have the opportunity to reach Western Nationals for their top competition.
- Level 10 Team: Level 10 is the highest level before reaching “Elite” status. Level 10’s routines are required to have a high level of difficulty as well as a bonus to reach a 10.0 start value. Level 10 competitors have the opportunity to qualify for US Junior Olympic National Competitions.
